APNIC Members and community participants are invited to join the final online listening session on increasing diversity in APNIC community leadership.
This session is the last in a scheduled series of three online listening sessions designed to help APNIC better understand the experiences, challenges and factors that influence participation in community leadership roles. Initiated at the direction of the APNIC Executive Council (EC), the consultation is exploring what encourages people to step forward, as well as the barriers that may prevent broader participation.

Building a stronger leadership pipeline
Ensuring that leadership opportunities are accessible to a wide range of participants is important for maintaining effective, representative, and sustainable community governance.
This consultation is exploring how people experience pathways into community leadership roles, including participation on the APNIC EC and other volunteer community positions. Feedback will help identify areas where participation can be better supported and where existing processes may present challenges.
Diversity includes representation across dimensions relevant to community leadership — including, but not limited to, gender, geography, professional background or skills, and experience. Diversity-related barriers in technical community leadership are not unique to APNIC; they are a shared challenge across many Internet and technical communities.
Seeking community perspectives
The listening sessions are designed to provide a respectful and welcoming environment where participants can share experiences and viewpoints openly.
APNIC EC representatives and Secretariat staff will attend primarily to listen and learn from the community. Discussions will focus on understanding participant experiences.
To support open participation, comments and feedback collected through the consultation process will be handled carefully. Any published findings will be reported in aggregate or de-identified form, helping ensure that individual participants cannot be identified.
