Do you work in the Internet industry in the Asia Pacific region? Are you looking for opportunities to uplift early-to-mid career professionals who are passionate about building a stronger, more resilient Internet?

APNIC is seeking community volunteers from across the Asia Pacific to contribute to the 2026 APNIC Fellowship program. With a limited number of places available, we offer two ways to contribute.

Selection committee: What’s involved

APNIC Fellowships are competitive, and will receive several applications. We need your help picking the strongest ones.

As a volunteer on the 2026 APNIC Fellowship selection committee, you’ll review applications to the 2026 APNIC Fellowship program. You’ll receive practical guidance and a streamlined process to help you make decisions. APNIC staff will manage the process, letting you focus on identifying the best applications.

The total time commitment will be up to five hours, between mid-March and mid-April 2026. That time will be spent either reviewing applications or collaborating on calls with other committee members.

Mentoring Fellows: What’s involved

This option is for current Internet leaders who want to take a more hands-on role in shaping the fellowship experience of the up-and-comers.

You’ll be paired with an 2026 APNIC Fellow. We’ll equip you with guiding tips and practical support as you and your mentee get started. Ultimately, we will depend on your wisdom and creativity.

Volunteering as a mentor is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to our community. There is a unique sense of fulfillment in sharing knowledge to help shape the next generation, building professional bonds, and making a tangible impact on the future of our Internet.

The time commitment is flexible and can be shaped by you and your mentee, depending on what works best for both of you. That time will be spent meeting regularly with your mentee, including some preparation time, and some interaction in between mentoring sessions.

What you’ll gain from volunteering

You’ll influence the next generation of Internet leadership in our region and contribute to a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community. Plus, we’ll acknowledge your contribution on our program website and during APNIC 62 in Mumbai, India, in September 2026.

If you’re interested in supporting the next generation of Internet leaders by joining the selection committee or becoming a mentor, check out the eligibility criteria and fill out the expression of interest form before 16 March 2026.
