Applications for the 2026 APNIC Fellowship and Policy Fellowship programs are open now until 13 March 2026 at 23:45 (UTC +10).

2026 APNIC Fellowship

APNIC is offering a limited number of fellowships to professionals and youth from emerging and developing economies in the APNIC service region to participate in an online, project-based learning program and attend the APNIC 62 conference in Mumbai, India, in September 2026.

The 2026 APNIC Fellowship program runs over five months and is designed to help participants build key skills in Internet operations, gain hands-on experience with Internet leaders, and build their industry and career profile.

2026 fellowships introduce a dynamic project-driven learning approach. Fellows will mix ‘learning by doing’ and exchange knowledge with industry subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop practical skills and deliver a tangible outcome.

The project themes may include developing capacity building skills (train-the-trainer), building technical learning environments (labs set up), increasing the security of the Internet, and network implementations for specific use cases (conference network operations).

APNIC Policy Fellowship

The APNIC Policy Fellowship program is designed to support emerging leaders residing in the APNIC region who are interested in taking the next step in their engagement with Internet resource policy.

Over 18 months, Policy Fellows will engage in a deep dive into the Policy Development Process (PDP), collaborating with mentors and peers to research, develop, and propose policies that respond to evolving technical and industry needs.

This immersive experience helps Fellows build skills in policy analysis, communication, and collaboration — preparing them to become active contributors to APNIC’s policy discussions and potentially transition into public policy roles across government, academia, and Internet-related organizations.

Fellows will be expected to participate in the Open Policy Meeting at APNIC 62 in Mumbai, APNIC 63 in Hong Kong, and APNIC 64 in Ulaanbaatar.
