The 54th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Telecommunications and Information Working Group (APEC TEL 54) was held in Kyoto, Japan, from 31 October to 4 November 2016.
APNIC has been an official guest in APEC TEL since 2009, regularly providing insight into regional IPv6 deployment at the Development Steering Group (DSG) and more recently taking part in the Security and Prosperity Steering Group (SPSG).
APNIC’s Development Director, Duncan Macintosh, and External Relations Manager, Klée Aiken, engaged with delegates from the 21 APEC member economies as well as guests from ISOC, APCERT, JPRS, and INTUG.
APNIC activities:
- Duncan presented a guest message at the opening plenary.
- Klée presented an IPv6 deployment update at the DSG and an update on APNIC cybersecurity activities at the SPSG.
- Duncan and Klée also took the opportunity to meet with stakeholders in Japan and explore opportunities for collaboration with delegates.
