APNIC was invited to attend the event Digital Policy at the Start of 2016: A view from Indonesia held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 19 January 2016.

Organized by APJII and the Geneva Internet Platform, the half-day event was a timely effort to discuss a range of Internet topics including cybersecurity, privacy, Internet governance, and Internet development, as well as prioritize where the Indonesian Internet community can contribute to these discussions internationally.

It was also an opportunity to support and help showcase the dynamic and inclusive Indonesian Internet community.

APNIC activities included:

  • Pablo Hinojosa, APNIC’s Strategic Engagement Director, attended the event as an observer and guest of APJII. After the official proceedings, Pablo joined several attendees for a lunch meeting hosted by the Minister for Communication and IT, Minister Rudiantara – a guest speaker at APNIC 40.
  • Pablo also attended a dinner meeting with APJII, during which he and APJII representatives shared experiences about the diversity of APNIC and IDNIC’s respective memberships.

Below is a video produced by APJII with interviews of people who attended the event.
