APNIC participated in the ON-IDLE Stakeholder meeting, held in Manila Philippines on 4 December 2024.
Open Network Testbed Laboratory for Internet Technologies Deployment and Experimentation (ON-IDLE), a project led by the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) was among the 2023 ISIF Asia IPv6 Deployment Grant recipients. This meeting highlighted the importance of IPv6 adoption perspectives of all stakeholders, including government, universities, and Internet technologies advocacy groups.
APNIC activities:
- Jia Rong Low delivered a pre-recorded keynote presentation highlighting notable achievements in IPv6 adoption within the Philippines and emphasizing its importance for future Internet growth.
- Raj Singh also delivered a remote keynote presentation.
- Shane Hermoso participated as a panelist on the ‘Lessons for us to learn from’ panel, which explored IPv6 deployment approaches from neighbouring economies across the Asia Pacific and discussed valuable lessons learned.
