APNIC participated in the inaugural PNG DNS Forum held from 6 to 10 May 2024 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The event, hosted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology in partnership with the Unitech .PG country code top-level domain (ccLTD), welcomed key stakeholders including Internet Service Providers (ISPs), telecommunication companies, government, policy makers and the academic community to discuss issues regarding PNG’s Internet landscape.

APNIC activities:

  • Terry Sweetser (APNIC) and Champika Wijayatunga (ICANN) co-hosted a three-day workshop on DNS/DNSSEC for 18 participants.
  • Ellisha Heppner presented an update on APNIC Foundations grants and projects within the region.

  • Terry also took the opportunity to attend a social for PNG-NOG and tour the PNG-IXP.
  • Ellisha visited PNG UniTech and met with a 2021 ISIF Asia Grantee to discuss project progress and additional support.
