APNIC proudly supported and participated at the Pacific ICT Days 2019, held at the same time as the Vanuatu Internet Governance Forum  (VanIGF) in Port Vila, Vanuatu, from 16 to 17 May 2019.

Pacific ICT Days 2019 is an ITU event to celebrate the World Telecommunication & Information Society Day (WTSID) 2019 and welcomed various ICT stakeholders to discuss ways to encourage participation in ITU standardization processes. VanIGF’s annual meeting followed last year’s Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) in Vanuatu, and welcomed stakeholders from the Pacific for discussion on issues such as cybersecurity and digital inclusion.

APNIC activities:

  • At the Pacific ICT Days 2019, Paul Wilson gave a keynote address on Internet cooperation at the ‘Inaugural Event: Embracing digital literacy for inclusive Internet development in Vanuatu’.
  • Paul also participated at the session, ‘ICTs a decade from now, how they will impact the next generation’.
  • Paul participated actively at VanIGF, which included many youth participants from Vanuatu.
