APNIC participated in the 4th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Telecommunity’s (APT) WTDC-17 Preparatory Group from 7 to 10 August 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The WTDC17-4 is the fourth and final meeting organized to prepare regional positions ahead of the International Telecommunications Union’s World Telecommunication Development Conference (ITU WTDC-17).
The WTDC convenes every four years to review the prior period and plan for the upcoming four-year cycle.
The objective of the APT preparatory process is to assist the Asia Pacific Member States to prepare for the WTDC and to coordinate the formation of regional positions and contributions.
The WTDC-17 will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 9 to 20 October.
APNIC activities:
- APNIC’s Senior Internet Policy Analyst, Adam Gosling, represented APNIC as an Affiliate Member of the APT. He participated in the meeting as a resource for delegations interested in understanding the activities of the Internet addressing community.
