APNIC participated at the sixth Bangladesh Network Operators Group (bdNOG 6) from 19 to 23 May in Bogra, Bangladesh.

bdNOG holds regular forums for Internet operators in Bangladesh to share information, participate in training on current best practices in Internet operations, and help build a better Internet in Bangladesh. bdNOG 6 was co-hosted by the Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and the ICT Business Council under the Ministry of Commerce (IBPC).

Welcoming around 120 participants, the conference included research-based presentations on topics including: ‘The future of web technology‘; ‘Introduction to container-based virtualization with Docker‘; and ‘IT environment in enterprise and challenges‘. Following the conference, there were two four-day workshops on IPv4 and IPv6 Routing for ISPs and Linux sys admin and security.

APNIC activities

  • Nurul Islam participated as a panellist in the Opening Plenary.
  • Nurul and Fakrul Alam helped conduct the Linux sys admin and security workshop.

Both Nurul and Fakrul hold positions on the board of bdNOG, Nurul as Trustee and Fakrul as General Secretary.
