Event Wrap: HKNOG 4.0, Hong Kong

The Internet of Things (IoT) was the major theme of discussion at the Hong Kong Network Operators Group meeting, HKNOG 4.0, held in Hong Kong on 24 February 2017.

Around 160 people attended the one-day event including Internet Services Providers, Internet Content Providers and Data Centre operators.

APNIC activities:

  • Geoff Huston gave the keynote presentation on the history of IoT and some of the future considerations for network operators including user privacy, network security and the network growth required to accommodate the potential billions of devices.

  • Before the conference, Nurul Islam Roman and Tashi Phuntsho delivered a three-day workshop on advanced routing.
