The Nepali Network Operators Group held their first meeting, npNOG 1, in Kathmandu from 9 to 12 December.
npNOG was established earlier this year during the Internet Exchange Nepal AGM, to serve as a community of network operators who work in ISPs, content providers, telcos and other areas of the Internet industry in Nepal.
The Chairman and Director of the Nepal Telecom Authority (NTA), Digambar Jha and Ananda Raj Khanal, provided the welcome address and keynote presentation to the 180 participants who attended the one-day conference, many of whom also attended the three-day workshop program.
APNIC activities:
- Sunny Chendi presented the APNIC regional update and spoke during one of the operational tracks on RPKI.
- Sunny also attend the social event, which APNIC sponsored.
- Following the conference, Sunny met with representatives of Nepal Telecom and Access World to discuss their resource requirements including their plans for deploying IPv6. He also met with the NTA Chairman and Director to discuss Nepal’s IPv6 migration roadmap, future training opportunities, benefits of establishing a national CERT and opportunities to participate in Internet Governance forums.
