Melbourne was the host city for the 5th Australian Internet Governance Forum (auIGF), held from 11 to 12 October 2016.

APNIC staff were among industry leaders, government representatives, academics, students, and Internet users who attended the two-day event to discuss Internet-related issues in Australia. Topics included:

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Networked Digital Economy
  • Digital inclusion and human rights

APNIC activities:

  • Pablo Hinojosa moderated the plenary IoT session – What’s now? What’s the future? which included presentations and discussion from Lorraine Tighe, Dr Kate Auty, Matthew Pryor, Phil Goebel and Scott Ceely.
