Participants of the 4th Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-16 (Source: Asia Pacific Telecommunity)

APNIC participated in the 4th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) preparatory group for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Telecommunications Standardization Assembly 2016 (WTSA-16).

The preparatory meeting was held from 23 to 26 August 2016 in Da Nang, Viet Nam.

The WTSA is held every four years and defines the next period of study for the telecommunications standardization bureau of the ITU (ITU-T).

The objective of this series of inter-governmental meetings is to assist the Asia Pacific member states to prepare for the WTSA in coordinating issues of regional interests and preparing coordinated regional contributions.

APNIC activities:

  • APNIC Senior Internet Policy Analyst, Adam Gosling, participated in the meeting as an observer and as a resource for delegations interested in understanding the activities of the Internet addressing community. Adam’s observations on the meeting including relevant discussions to the APNIC community and are available in this report.
