Three new members of the APNIC Executive Council (EC) were elected at the Annual General Meeting held at APNIC 41 in Auckland, New Zealand, last Friday (26 February).

Rajesh Chharia, Roopinder Singh Perhar, and Kam Sze Yeung were all elected to the APNIC EC for the first time.  All three were elected for two year terms.  You can watch the election announcement below.

Following the election, the new APNIC EC met to appoint the EC office holders (Chair, Secretary and Treasurer).  The EC appointed:

  • Gaurab Raj Upadhaya (Chair)
  • Rajesh Chharia (Secretary)
  • James Spenceley (Treasurer)

The AGM was the last for departing EC Members, Maemura Akinori and Che-Hoo Cheng, both of whom decided not to seek re-election; and for Ma Yan, who was unsuccessful in achieving re-election.  The APNIC Secretariat would like to again thank Akinori, Che-Hoo and Ma Yan for their many years of service to the Executive Council and the APNIC community.
