APNIC 38 began yesterday in Brisbane with some great presentations and entertainment. If you missed it, you can catch up on the main sessions online.
Australia’s Minister for Communications, Malcolm Turnbull, and ITU Deputy Secretary-General, Houlin Zhao, delivered the opening keynotes. There were also interesting presentations from PITA, OPT and the New Caledonian Government.
Minister Turnbull’s excellent speech, which gave a strong endorsement of the community-driven, multistakeholder model of Internet governance, is also available to read on his blog.
The technical keynotes in the afternoon from Eric Vyncke, Paul Vixie and Geoff Huston focused on security and were well attended. The presentations also attracted some media attention.
The day was rounded off with a chance to catch up with colleagues at the opening social. It was great to see so many old and new faces from the APNIC community!
