
APNIC supported and participated in PHNOG 2025, held in Manila, Philippines from 7 to 11 July 2025.
The event welcomed around 317 participants to hear from speakers on topics including DNS, network operations, capacity building and peering.
APNIC activities:
- Jia Rong Low delivered a keynote address where he shared APNIC updates. He congratulated the Philippines for its rapid Internet growth, including the growth of the Philippine Internet community, and emphasized the importance of multistakeholder governance and regional collaboration, encouraging continued participation to support a secure, inclusive Internet.
- Shane Hermoso presented the ‘APNIC Update’ during the PHNOG Conference Day. She also participated in the panel discussion on ‘Bridging the Competency Gaps in the Telecommunications and Network Operations Industry’.
- Shane also presented on ‘BGP Security Best Practices that Matter’ at the PHNOG Peering Forum Day where she shared actionable strategies for network operators to secure their networks and guard against hijacks and route leaks.
- Arth Paulite delivered a presentation titled ‘DNSSEC Made Easy’ where he outlined practical deployment processes for operators to strengthen DNS integrity with minimal complexity.
- Shane and APNIC Community Trainer, Liezel Manangan, conducted a one-day BGP, IPv6 and RPKI Tutorial for 30 participants.
- Shane and APNIC Community Trainer, Bani Lara, conducted a Network Management & Monitoring Tutorial for 44 participants.
- Arth and Shane were also active members of the PHNOG Working Group and Program Committees.
