APNIC is pleased to introduce the three keynote speakers who will take the stage at APNIC 60, 4 – 11 September 2025, in Da Nang, Viet Nam.
Strengthening Internet integrity

Leslie Daigle will deliver a keynote on “Strengthening Internet integrity: Collaborative solutions for cybersecurity challenges“, informed by local data and context-specific insights.
Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the threats that lie in the seemingly harmless traffic that may be circulating in their networks and be encouraged to take part in a global effort to detect and eliminate it.
As Chief Technical Officer of the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), Leslie has long championed an open Internet, supported community-driven management of Internet number resource policy, and advocated for the collaborative development of inter-networking standards and best practices.
From chairing the Internet Architecture Board in the early 2000s, to promoting and supporting IPv6 deployment when she was at the Internet Society, now to working with cybersecurity challenges at scale, Leslie’s work has consistently aimed to ensure the global Internet remains an open, unified resource for everyone.
Modernizing Viet Nam’s Internet

Vu The Binh will be speaking about “Modernizing the Internet of Viet Nam with cloud computing, data centres, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and IPv6-only capability“.
Vu The Binh expects attendees will gain a clearer picture of both the opportunities and challenges Viet Nam is facing as we enter a new era of the Internet. His core message is that Viet Nam is ready, and needs to engage, to learn, and to contribute.
As the former CEO of NetNam (2010–2024) and Secretary General of the Viet Nam Internet Association since 2016, Vu The Binh has had the chance to be involved in Viet Nam’s Internet development, from both technical and policy perspectives, alongside many dedicated individuals and organizations.
Over nearly three decades, he has witnessed Viet Nam’s growth from a newcomer to an active and increasingly engaged member of the regional Internet community.
Vu The Binh considers being invited to deliver the keynote at APNIC 60 not only a personal honour, but also a reflection of Viet Nam’s growing presence and willingness to contribute to the Asia Pacific Internet ecosystem.
Mental health and workplace culture

René Fichtmüller will be speaking about “Mental health and workplace culture in tech: A personal perspective”. His closing keynote presentation intends to inspire awareness, courage, and action on a topic that affects us all.
René has been combining technical expertise with strategic market development at Flexoptix since 2018, serving as Evangelical Optician for the DACH, Asia Pacific, and Oceania regions.
René’s keynote is shaped by his own lived experiences with workplace culture and mental health. In 2011, he faced a personal crisis that became a turning point in how he approaches life and work. His later diagnosis of severe ADHD and impulse control disorder provided further clarity. These experiences have deeply influenced his perspective on the importance of care, accountability, and mutual support within the industry.
What you can look forward to
The keynotes are just one highlight of APNIC 60, where the Asia Pacific Internet community comes together in Da Nang to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore new ideas.
Leslie is keen to hear directly from network operators about the region’s unique opportunities, innovations, and challenges.
Vu The Binh looks forward to sharing Viet Nam’s insights, building technical skills through various workshop sessions, and strengthening regional ties. He views APNIC 60 as a catalyst for boosting local Internet security with tools such as RPKI and preparing for future challenges like AI and 5G.
René is excited to reconnect with the community, saying APNIC events bring a special energy and spark conversations that go beyond the technical.
