
APNIC supported and participated in bdNOG 19, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 21 to 24 May 2025.
The four-day event included technical workshops and talks on topics including IPv6 DNS/DNSSEC, AI and much more. View the program for more information.
APNIC also partnered with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), which hosted an IPv6 Seminar that welcomed over 100 participants from various industry sectors and aimed to advance the deployment of IPv6 in Bangladesh.

bdNOG 19
- Awal Haolader conducted a Network Automation Workshop for 35 participants.
- Awal also presented on ‘DDoS Mitigation Strategies’ where he shared recent DDoS trends and vulnerable ports and recommended strategies to protect ISPs and network operators against DDoS attacks.
- Md Abdullah Al Naser presented on ‘Fast Reroute in SR-MPLS’, highlighting the Topology Independent Loop-Free Alternate (TI-LFA) mechanism, effective strategies for preventing micro loops, and best practices for designing and deploying scalable, fast-converging SR-MPLS networks.
- Jia Rong Low delivered a special guest speech during the closing ceremony.
BTRC IPv6 Seminar
- Jia Rong gave welcome remarks.
- Subha Shamarukh shared statistics and insights on IPv6 adoption across the Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on Bangladesh’s current deployment status. Subha also highlighted the various ways APNIC supports its Members in adopting IPv6.
- Awal presented IPv6 deployment strategies tailored to different industry sectors. He emphasized practical approaches that organizations can adopt based on their specific operational needs. Awal also shared information on the various IPv6 training programs made available by APNIC.
- During the visit, Jia Rong and Subha had meetings with BTRC, the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) and the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB). They also meet with the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology (MoPTIT), accompanied by Sumon Ahmed Sabir, APNIC EC member, to discuss important Internet issues.
- APNIC staff also visited with BdREN, BRAC University, and APNIC Members to share information on APNIC’s products and services.
