APNIC participated in the 6th ICANN APAC-TWNIC Engagement Forum and 43rd TWNIC OPM, held in Taipei from 22 to 24 April 2025.

The event was organized by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Taiwan Network Information Center (TWNIC), to discuss topics including Internet numbers, policy development, Internet governance, and cybersecurity.

APNIC activities:

  • Jia Rong Low delivered a keynote presentation where he discussed trends in global network development, including APNIC’s milestone of 50% IPv6 capability in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Geoff Huston presented on ‘What’s going on with IPv6?’ where he shared statistics and insights on the global adoption of IPv6.
  • Makito Lay presented an APNIC Policy Update in Mandarin during the Policy SIG Forum and encouraged the Taiwan community to actively participate in the discussions.
  • Jia Rong and Nicole Chan (APNIC NRO NC representative) also gave a brief update at the Policy SIG Forum on the ICP-2 Review community consultation process and encouraged participation form the Taiwan Internet community.
  • During the visit to Taiwan, Jia Rong and Makito also met with APNIC Members, Taiwan Internet Exchange (TWIX), TWNIC, Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) to discuss important Internet-related matters.
