Anna presenting at PHNOG 2024

APNIC supported and participated in PHNOG 2024, held from 8 to 12 July 2024 in Manila, Philippines.

The five-day event celebrated the 30th anniversary of Philippines Internet and the 15th Philippines Network Operators Group event.

APNIC activities:

  • Paul Wilson shared a pre-recorded video message, bidding farewell and congratulating the community on the 30th anniversary of the Philippines Internet.
  • Shane Hermoso participated in the ‘Diversity’ panel during the conference day and presented on ‘Measuring ROV and RPKI’ at the Peering Forum.
  • Anna Mulingbayan presented on the 30-year history of the Philippines Internet, using REx to explore Internet growth and deployment metrics in the Philippines and across the South East Asia region.
  • APNIC co-hosted a booth with PHNOG during the event. Shane and Anna also took the opportunity to meet with APNIC Members to provide technical assistance and answer their questions relating to APNIC memberships and Internet addressing.
  • Shane, Arth Paulite, and APNIC Community Trainer, Liezel Manangan, conducted a one-day workshop on RPKI and DNSSEC for 25 participants.
  • Shane, Anna, and Leizel also conducted a one-day workshop on BGP and IPv6 for 42 participants.
