APNIC participated in the ICANN 80 Policy Forum held in Kigali, Rwanda from 10 to 13 June 2024.
The four-day event, the second of the three annual ICANN meetings, was dedicated to policy development work and regional outreach activities. In addition, the 5th Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) High Level Government Meeting was hosted by the Government of Rwanda on 9 June 2024 in conjunction with the ICANN 80 Policy Forum. APNIC activities:
- Paul Wilson participated as a panelist in the ‘ICANN & The Multistakeholder Model’ session during the High Level Government Meeting, which was attended by over 70 government delegations (in-person and online). The session focused on the evolution of the global Internet governance ecosystem over the past 25 years. The session recording can be viewed here.
- Paul and Jeremy Harrison also held side meetings with other RIR representatives, I* organizations, and government representatives, where they discussed important Internet-related issues.
