The APNIC Foundation is pleased to announce it has appointed Rajnesh Singh as its new CEO.
Raj is well known to many in the Asia Pacific Internet community, joining the Foundation from the Internet Society where he worked for more than 15 years building the Internet Society’s presence in the region.
Prior to his time at Internet Society, Raj spent time in the business sector developing technology startup companies as both a founder and investor.
Raj previously chaired the APrIGF for five years, was the founding chair of ICANN’s Asia Pacific Regional At-Large Organization (APRALO), chaired the Pacific Islands Chapter of the Internet Society (PICISOC) from 2005-2008, and has been an Advisory Committee Member of APNG since 2009. Raj has also worked closely with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) for many years.
Raj’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the Internet challenges facing the Asia Pacific, coupled with his commercial background and ability to develop relationships across sectors makes him ideally suitable for the CEO role at the APNIC Foundation.
I’m excited by this appointment and confident the community will welcome him to the APNIC family.
On behalf of APNIC and the APNIC Foundation Board, I’d like to thank Sylvia Cadena for her contributions as Acting CEO prior to Raj’s appointment.
We are looking forward to Raj leading the APNIC Foundation well into the future.
