APNIC supported and participated in Peering Asia 2021v, held online on 9 November 2021.

The event welcomed around 240 participants to hear from speakers on topics including smaller IXPs in the region, peering policies, and the peering landscapes in Bangladesh and the Philippines. The Peering Personal sessions were also part of the agenda, and enabled participants to introduce themselves and their networks for better peering.

APNIC activities:

  • Che-Hoo Cheng presented on less well-known IXPs in the region, and the important role they play in their economies.
  • APNIC Executive Council members, Sumon Ahmed Sabir and Achie Atienza also participated. Sumon presented on the Internet and peering landscape in Bangladesh, and Achie presented on the Internet landscape in the Philippines.
  • Tohid Naslpak​ presented on APNIC’s network AS4608 at the Peering Personals session.
  • APNIC also provided Zoom support for the event.
