Tashi presenting on IPv6.

APNIC participated at the fourth Bhutan Network Operators Group meeting (BhutanNOG 4) on 5 June 2017.

The one-day conference included presentations on traffic trends, NATs, IPv6 and DNNSEC, followed by two four-day workshops on campus network design, and network and systems security from 6 to 9 June 2017.

APNIC activities:

  • George Michaelson gave a remote presentation on the DNSSEC KSK rollover and why it is vital that operators who perform DNSSEC validation be aware of the key roll.

  • Tashi Phuntsho gave an update on IPv6 deployment in Bhutan and the region, noting that the true driver for IPv6 adoption is the mobile Internet.

  • Tashi joined Philip Smith in delivering training on campus network design.
  • Tashi also took the opportunity to meet with APNIC Members to discuss their IP address and membership queries.
