Last week, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, the Honorable Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, opened the Pacific ICT Days 2016 conference, held in Port Vila, Vanuatu, from 17 to 18 of May 2016.
APNIC staff were invited to present at the conference as well as facilitate a training workshop on IPv6.
Pacific ICT Days (previously National ICT Day) provides an environment and platform for regional and international delegates, technology providers and specialists to come together and share experiences, discuss latest technological advances, address key issues and challenges and explore new business opportunities within the telecommunications industry.
APNIC actives included:
- Fakrul Alam presented alongside Save Vocea (ICANN) during the second-day session Internet Protocol and Domain Names – Why it matters to entrepreneurship? on why IPv6 is important and how it can play a vital role in the Internet of Things
- Jessica Wei and Fakrul facilitated a 3-day IPv6 workshop for 26 people from local and regional government organizations and telecommunication providers.
