APNIC’s Security Specialist, Adli Wahid, will deliver a three-day Security Audit workshop from 2-4 February 2016, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, hosted by MaxBIT.

This intermediate-level workshop is designed for Engineers, Network Managers, Network Operators and Security Policy Makers who are interested in network security, want to gain an understanding of the threats they face, and learn about controls they can implement in their organizations in order to minimize the risks.

The training will comprise a range of lectures, hands-on exercises, and group discussions on the following topics:

      • Basics of cybersecurity
      • Threat and risk management
      • Critical security controls, including:
        • Network configuration
        • Secure configuration
        • Devices and software management
        • Malware defences
        • Monitoring  and analysis of audit logs
        • Vulnerability assessment
        • Authentication and control of administrative privileges
      • Security incident response

Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops to practice the lessons learned during the workshop.

Adli has extensive experience and technical leadership in cybersecurity and spearheads APNIC’s security outreach, engagement, and collaboration with the regional community. In 2015, he was elected as a member of the FIRST.org Board of Directors.
