Over 1,000 participants from over 100 countries and regions attended the first World Internet Conference (WIC) held in Wuzhen, China, November 19-21, 2014. The conference, jointly organized by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, PRC, aimed to discuss global Internet governance, cyber security, the role of the Internet to promote economic and social development, and technological innovation in the field.
APNIC Strategic Engagement Director, Pablo Hinojosa, attended the conference on behalf of APNIC. He presented on the topic ‘improvements to the current Internet governance ecosystem’ in a panel discussion.
