With APNIC 60 fast approaching, taking place from 4 to 11 September 2025 at the Furama Resort in Da Nang, Viet Nam, the policy discussion is heating up.
Following on from an earlier post detailing prop-162 and prop-164, three more proposals have now been added to the agenda:
- prop-165: A proposal to allow organizations eligible for IPv6 Provider Aggregatable address space to request a limited IPv4 allocation — specifically a /24 block — to support IPv6-only networks that still require minimal IPv4 for transitional purposes such as DNS resolution.
- prop-166: A proposal to give APNIC the authority to revoke RPKI resource certificates associated with long-term non-functional Certificate Authorities, aiming to reduce the workload for Relying Parties.
- prop-167: This proposal suggests providing APNIC Members and stakeholders with visibility into the use of WHOIS and RDAP services to enable usage transparency, informed policy discussions, and the detection of abuse or anomalous activity.
That brings the total to five proposals up for community discussion at the Open Policy Meeting. If you haven’t already, now’s the time to read all of the proposals, join the mailing list, and have your say, whether in person in Da Nang or online.
The Policy SIG welcomes all voices, experienced or new, in shaping the future of Internet number resource management in the Asia Pacific.
