APNIC will deliver a five-day ISP Essentials workshop from 8 to 12 July 2019, in Manila, Philippines, with the support of the Philippine Cable Television Association Inc. (PCTA).

Days 1-3: BGP routing and IXP essentials

  • BGP operations
  • BGP scaling techniques
  • BGP multihoming and traffic engineering
  • Internet Exchange Points
  • Peering best practices

Day 4: Network monitoring

  • Introduction to network monitoring
  • Config management (Rancid / Oxidized)
  • Address management tools (IPAM)
  • Logging and monitoring tools

Day 5: DNS deployment

  • DNS operations
  • DNS security concepts
  • Intro to DNSSEC
  • Deploying DNSSEC
  • DNSSEC key management

Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops to practice the hands-on lessons learned using the APNIC virtual labs.
