APNIC participated at the Philippines Cable Television Association Internet Exchange (PCTA IX) Summit in Manila, Philippines on 29 October 2019.
This was a half-day event for PCTA members to discuss peering and interconnection through the IX to save on costs and get higher performance for their ISP networks.
APNIC activities:
- Che-Hoo Cheng gave a presentation on the benefits of setting up an IXP, the best practices to consider, case studies of successful IXPs, and what to think about going forward.
- George Kuo met with members of the PCTA Board to discuss collaboration activities, their business challenges and future plans for providing broadband services in their communities.
- George also met with prospective APNIC Members, and provided updates on APNIC’s new service initiative and activities.
- Before the Summit, Jessica Wei, along with APNIC Consultant, Mark Prior, and Community Trainer, Bayani Lara, helped conduct an IXP workshop for 29 participants.
