Rafael Cintra gave an update on APNIC's new service initiatives and activities.

APNIC participated at LACNIC 27 in Foz do Iguazú, Brazil, from 22 to 26 May 2017.

This is the first meeting of the year for LACNIC, the RIR for Latin America and parts of the Caribbean. The five-day program included tutorials, technical plenary sessions, and Member and policy meetings in parallel with tracks organized by LAC-IX, LACNOG, and LACTLD.

The agenda included an IPv6 Day, with presentations including Mikel Jimenez Fernández’s IPv6 @ FB: A journey from the NIC to the Edge, where he explained that “all Facebook user services are implemented in IPv6”, and Jordi Palet, who discussed the evolution of data centres without IPv4.
