APNIC attended the OIC-CERT Annual Conference 2014 and the 6th Annual General Meeting in Brunei Darussalam, from 20 to 22 October 2014.
With the theme “Emerging Risks vs Opportunities” the conference aimed to address the latest issues in cyber security such as cloud computing and big data.
The event was hosted by the Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) and supported by the OIC-CERT Secretariat.
The three-day event included a Workshop on the first day, the Annual General Meeting on the second day, and an Open Conference on the third day, attended by OIC-CERT members from Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
APNIC activities:
- Adli Wahid was invited to conduct the “Internet for Investigation” workshop. There were 51 participants, including attendees from local ISPs, the law enforcement community, regulators and government agencies.
- On the conference day, Adli presented on “Securing the Internet of Things”. The presentation focused on the need to enhance incident response capabilities when dealing with security incidents, now and in the future. There was coverage of Adli’s presentation in the local news.
- Adli also met up with representatives from Malaysia CERT, IDSIRTII, Brunei CERT and Interpol on future collaborative LEA training opportunities, and APCERT on a security track at APRICOT 2015.
