Theophilus A. Benson

Theophilus A. Benson is a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University and Carnegie Mellon University-Africa. His research group focuses on developing models, algorithms, and frameworks to enhance the performance and availability of computer networks, with an emphasis on understanding and managing network state. Recently, his group has applied this approach to address the digital divide, optimise microservices and cloud systems, manage software-defined networks, and rethink CDN designs. Their work has been deployed at web-scale companies, integrated into open-source systems, and acquired by a major hardware manufacturer.
