Get involved in APNIC Special Interest Groups

APNIC’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide an open platform for discussions on key topics relevant to APNIC and the wider Internet community in the Asia Pacific region.

At this year’s conference, in addition to the Policy SIG, three other SIGs will take place:

  • Routing Security SIG: Gain insights into the latest RPKI updates in the region, explore RPKI Monitor, and hear a case study on ROA / ROV deployment at TWNIC. The session will also cover developments in ASPA and the IETF.
  • Cooperation SIG: Join discussions on the WSIS+20 process and the critical role of the technical community in shaping global and regional policy conversations.
  • NIR SIG: Hear from National Internet Registries (NIRs) as they reflect on the past five years and share their vision for the future in an engaging panel discussion.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the discussion and play a role in shaping the future of Internet governance and security in the region.

Share your thoughts on the policy proposals up for discussion

Two proposals will be discussed at the APNIC 59 Open Policy Meeting (OPM), held by the Policy SIG.

  • prop-162: WHOIS Privacy
  • prop-163: Enhancing WHOIS Transparency and Efficiency Through Referral Server Implementation

You can participate by:

  • Posting to the Policy mailing list before the OPM.
  • Attending the OPM, asking questions and listening to how the proposed policies affect others.
  • Joining the consensus call to show your support, or object to a suggested change.

The APNIC Policy Development Process (PDP) relies on diverse voices to share their opinions on the proposal. The APNIC community wants to hear from you! Subscribe to the Policy SIG mailing list now and participate in the discussion!
