APNIC participated in the Internet Society’s InterCommunity 2020 — Securing Internet Routing event, held online on 24 June 2020.

InterCommunity 2020 events are virtual, one-hour meetings to discuss hot topic issues, in this case the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) initiative. More than 200 people participated for an informative conversation about protecting the Internet from the most common routing threats.

APNIC activities:

  • Tashi Phuntsho gave a presentation on why it is important to secure global routing, highlighting the issues with differences in validated ROA outputs observed with different validators, and the ROA outreach work by the APNIC Training team in the region. Tashi also noted the beta testing the APNIC Training team has done with ROSv7.
  • Tashi also took part in the Q&A following the presentations, answering questions on creating ROAs, and RPKI validators.
