With the global spread of COVID-19, the APNIC Secretariat is taking active measures to reduce the risks to staff while maintaining services to Members and the community.

For the safety of all staff, all travel for APNIC work has ceased.  The APNIC office is still open, however the team is being encouraged to work from home and practice social distancing.  APNIC has all the necessary tools and experience to allow remote working for an extended period with minimal disruption to operations.

Member services are operating normally: applications for number resources continue to be processed, and the APNIC Helpdesk is open as usual.  Online services are unaffected and operating normally, with staff on-call as usual to deal with any interruptions.

Face to face training services are suspended for now, for the safety of community members and APNIC trainers.  However, the APNIC training team will be arranging more live webinars and training on the APNIC Academy online platform during this period, in addition to the numerous self-paced courses available.  If you’ve not used the Academy platform before, now’s a great time to try it out.

These measures around travel and social distancing are being reviewed weekly as the situation progresses, and normal travel for APNIC staff will restart when it is safe to do so.

If you have any questions about these measures and APNIC services, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

APNIC wishes everyone in the APNIC community, and your families, the best of health during this challenging time, and we hope to be back working face-face in the community as soon as we can.
