APNIC participated at the 29th Annual FIRST Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 11 to 16 June 2017.
The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) holds regular conferences for security and incident-response member teams from around the world to share information on security and incident best practices, and maximize networking opportunities.
The 29th annual conference welcomed 720 attendees from 68 countries and featured keynote speakers from Facebook, Google, the University of Oxford, and Microsoft Research.
APNIC activities:
- Adli Wahid attended the FIRST Board meeting as a board member. Adli was re-elected as a board member for a further two years.
- An MoU between FIRST and APNIC was signed to strengthen collaboration in capacity development and joint activities in the Asia Pacific region.
- Adli took the opportunity to meet members of APCERT and Tonga CERT to discuss future collaboration and training activities.
The 30th Annual FIRST Conference and AGM in 2018 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
FIRST will also be holding a Regional Symposium in Taichung, Taiwan, from 9-11 September, alongside APNIC 44.
