APNIC staff participated at the 17th Pacific Network Operators’ Group (PacNOG 17) from 13 to 17 July 2015 in Apia, Samoa.
Founded in 2004, PacNOG is open to all ISPs and Internet related organizations in the Pacific Island region.
PacNOG 17 continued its focus on capacity development for IP-ISP network operators from the Pacific Islands, holding educational workshop and training in addition to the Conference Plenary.
Overall there were 89 registrants, many from the local community as well as from Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, Tokelau, and Vanuatu.
The next PacNOG will be held from 30 November to 4 December in Guam.
APNIC activities:
- Elly Tawhai presented on Route Origin Authorizations (ROAs) and APNIC’s ‘Ready to ROA’ campaign which allows you to create your ROA through MyAPNIC. View her presentation
- Sheryl Hermoso conducted the DNS/ ccTLD management & Critical Internet Resource Management workshop with Champika Wijayatunga from ICANN.
- Elly also met with APNIC Members to answer their membership queries and provide them with more information about IPv6 deployment and how to use MyAPNIC to create their ROAs.
