APNIC supported and participated at the Pacific IGF 2021, held alongside APTLD 80, as a hybrid event from 6 to 9 September 2021. There were also two remote hubs in Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

The event focused on themes relating to enhancing security, digital transformation, connectivity, and inclusion.

APNIC activities:

  • Joyce Chen and Pablo Hinojosa participated in the working group, to help develop the hybrid event and program.
  • Adli Wahid participated as a panellist in the ‘Enhancing security in the Pacific’ session, focusing on fraud and social engineering.
  • Joyce Chen presented on Internet governance focusing on IANA’s stewardship transition at the ‘Internet Governance’ session.
  • Pablo Hinojosa participated as a panellist at the ‘Partner’s Updates’ session.
