The day-long event will feature several high-profile experts presenting on various aspects of IoT, including:

  • Geoff Huston, APNIC’S Chief Scientist, who will provide “An Introduction to the World of Things”.
  • CF Chui, Arbor Networks, who will be presenting on “IoT: the Next Wave of DDoS Threat Landscape?”
  • Raymond Poon, Cisco Systems, who will be discussing “Smart City Innovations”.

We’re also glad to have network professionals, Addison Chi, Arista Networks, discuss “4K and Beyond – Is Your Network Ready?”, and Eric Choi, VeloCloud, present on “SD-Wan 2.0”.

Be sure to check out the full program over the coming weeks as more speakers are announced.

This year’s meeting has been scheduled on the Friday prior to APRICOT 2017 to allow participants to travel via Hong Kong on their way to Ho Chi Minh City.

HKNOG 4.0 will be held Friday, 24 February 2017 from 09:00 am to 17:30 (UTC +8) at 35/F of Central Plaza in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Thanks to our generous sponsors AMSIX and Megaport, we’ll have a professional barista serving coffee all day, and as tradition, an after-party supported by Equinix at the nearby Trafalgar Brewing Company.

We welcome all APRICOT participants to make a stop in Hong Kong to enjoy the good food and cold weather before the busy week in tropical Vietnam.

Wai-Kay Shiu is a member of HKNOG. He works as a Telecommunications Engineer at the Hong Kong Police Force.
