APNIC will deliver a three-day workshop — Routing II — from 16 to 18 March, in Pekanbaru, Indonesia.

Register now and pay before 24 February 2016 to get the early-bird rate.

This intermediate level workshop is designed for mid-level to senior technical and design staff of ISPs, network operators and other enterprises, who are involved in day-to-day network operations and planning functions.

Topics covered will include:

  • IPv6 Address Structure
  • Routing Lab Topology Overview
  • Operation of OSPF Routing Protocol
  • Lab exercise on Basic Router and OSPF Dynamic Routing Configuration
  • Basic BGP operation
  • BGP Attributes and Path Selection Process
  • BGP traffic engineering tools i.e. Local Pref, MED, AS path prepend, communities etc.
  • BGP Scaling Techniques i.e. route reflector, peer group
  • Lab exercise on iBGP, RR, Peer group etc.
  • Internet Exchange [IX] Policy Overview and Configuration requirement, Route server etc.

Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops to practice the hands-on lessons learned using the APNIC virtual lab.

The workshop is kindly supported by APJII and will be delivered by Fakrul Alam, APNIC’s Senior Training Officer.
